Misoprostol Oil

Misoprostol oil belongs to the group of prostaglandin analogues. The active ingredient inhibits gastric acid production and promotes the self-protective mechanisms of the gastric mucosa. It is used for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers.

Misoprostol is used to decrease the chance of having stomach ulcers in patients taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) including aspirin. This medicine works by helping the stomach protect itself against acid damage, and decreases the amount of acid produced by the stomach.

There are a few different ways to take misoprostol. You can put the pills in your vagina (vaginal), under your tongue (sublingual), or in your mouth between your cheeks and gums (buccal). They’ll slowly break down, and your body will absorb the medicine through the skin in your vagina or mouth.
